| Prices in the domestic and export markets traded higher. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Crude palm oil price traded higher by RM83.50 to RM2002.50, with the highest traded price at RM2,035.00. RBD palm olein traded higher by US$29.50 to US$593.00. Prices were traded firmer due to: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| n | Persistent fears of supply disruption after torrential rains in palm oil producing areas of Southern Peninsula Malaysia. The floods have cut off main roads in Johor, which is a major palm oil producing region. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| n | Supported by BMD CPO futures market, which was up by 2.2% to RM2038.00, its highest level recorded for the past eight (8) years. The positive sentiment was boosted by fears that floods would further cut supplies. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| n | Palm oil price was supported by strong buying in the physical market for prompt shipments. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
