PALM OIL WEEKLY PRICES ON   02nd - 08th Apr  2008 2nd  Week
Prices in the domestic and export markets traded easier.
Crude palm oil price traded lower, down by RM205.00 to RM3,308.00,  with the highest  traded price at RM3,400.00.  RBD palm olein traded lower by US$68.00 to US$1,232.00. Prices were traded easier due to: 
n Weaker at BMD CPO prices influenced by huge losses in the CBOT soyabean oil futures.
n Pressured by bearish USDA estimate that US soyabean acreage will increase by 18% this year at the expense of corn.
n However, news on India’s  to remove edible oil  import duties and higher SGS palm oil export data for March by 11% to 1.22 million tonnes supported palm oil prices.

n For the current week 07/04/2008 – 13/04/2008, the CPO export duty payable is RM794.48/tonne.
Palm oil prices in Europe traded  easier.
n Crude palm oil price traded lower by US$33.50 to US$1,117.00. CPO discount vis-à-vis SBO widened to US$260.50 this week.
n RBD palm olein traded lower by US$35.50 at US$1,257.50 and was at a discount of US$120.00 against SBO.
