PALM OIL WEEKLY PRICES ON   08th -  14th May 2008 2nd  Week
Prices in the domestic and export markets traded mixed.
Crude palm oil price traded higher, increased by RM113.00 to RM3,515.50,  with the highest  traded price at RM3,650.00.  RBD palm olein traded lower by US$14.50 to US$1,254.00. CPO prices was traded firm due to:                                                                               
n Higher BMD CPO futures prices supported by record high crude oil and worries over global edible oil supply tightness.
n Bullish CBOT soyabean oil futures prices on concerns over Argentina’s farmers’ strike and USDA lower soyabean stock estimated down by 15 million bushels to 145 million from 160 million bushels for 2007 – 2008.
n News of State Trading Corp. of India buying of 20,000 tonnes of RBD palm olein for middle June delivery.
Crude palm oil export duty.
n For the current week 12/05/2008 – 18/05/2008, the CPO export duty payable is RM757.80/tonne.
Palm oil prices in Europe traded  mixed.
n Crude palm oil price traded higher by US$25.50 to US$1,195.00. CPO discount vis-ŕ-vis SBO widened to US$243.00 this week.
n RBD palm olein traded lower by US$1.00 at US$1,312.50 and was at a discount of US$125.50 against SBO.
