| Prices in the domestic and export markets remain bouyant. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Crude palm oil price traded sharply higher, up by RM107.00 to RM2,235.50, with the highest traded price at RM2,330.00. RBD palm olein traded higher by US$39.00 to US$691.50. Prices were traded higher due to: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| n | Supported by firmer CBOT soyabean and BMD CPO futures prices. CPO futures jumped on renewed technical and fresh buying interest and being traded at their highest level since December 1998. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| n | Market worries over tightness of CPO supplies and strong local CPO buying interest from refineries. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| n | Reduction in imports of Indonesian CPO due to lower output as a result of drought conditions in Indonesia. Thus, landed prices of Indonesian CPO are higher in Peninsular Malaysia which subsequently helped lift local palm prices. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
