PALM OIL WEEKLY PRICES ON   12th  - 18th Dec  2007 3rd  Week
Prices in the domestic and export markets traded firm.
Crude palm oil price traded  firm, up  by RM31.00 to RM2,914.00,  with the highest traded price at RM2,965.00.  RBD palm olein traded higher by US$15.50 to US$938.00. Prices were traded firm due to:
n Worries over the flood situation in crude palm oil producing states and renewed bullish momentum in crude oil prices aided the sentiments.
n Bullish stock data released by USDA helped support the market.  USDA reduced its soyabean stocks forecast by 25 million bushels to 185 million bushels
n Crops remained stressed in Western Argentina’s soyabean regions due to dryness and recent steady spell of hot and dry weather encouraged some speculative buying.
n  Higher SGS export estimates for December 1-15, up by 11.5% to 747,834 tonnes compared to the same period in November.
Crude palm oil export duty.
n For the current week 17/12/2007 – 23/12/2007, the CPO export duty payable is RM640.84/ tonne.
Palm oil prices in Europe traded  firm.
n Crude palm oil price traded higher by US$10.00 to US$941.00. CPO discount vis-ŕ-vis SBO narrowed to US$221.50  this week.
n  RBD palm olein traded higher by US$18.00  at US$987.00  and  was  at  a discount of US$176.00 against SBO.
