PALM OIL WEEKLY PRICES ON  05th - 11th Jun 2013 2nd Week

Prices in the domestic market traded mixed.
CPO prices traded higher this week by RM32.50 to RM2,371.00 against RM2,338.50 attained the previous week. The highest and lowest traded prices were at RM2,440.00 and RM2,280.00 respectively. Price of RBD palm olein traded lower at US$811.00. Crude palm oil traded higher mainly due to:
Investors remained optimistic that Malaysia's palm oil stocks are expected to decline on near-stagnant production and a demand recovery ahead of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadhan that starts in July.

Supported by continued positive market news that May, 2013 palm oil stock levels decline to 1.816 million tonnes, the lowest in almost a year, arising from higher domestic consumption (for value-adding) offsetting reportedly near-stagnant palm oil production.
Crude palm oil exports duty (after partial duty exemption) for the month of May, 2013.
With effect from 01/05/2013 31/05/2013, the CPO export duty payable is RM105.63/tonne.
Palm oil prices in Europe traded higher.
Crude palm oil price traded higher by US$3.50 to US$858.50. CPO discount vis--vis SBO narrowed to US$192.00 this week.
RBD palm olein price traded higher by US$7.00 to US$865.50 and was at a discount of US$184.50 against SBO.
