PALM OIL WEEKLY PRICES ON  19th - 25th Jun 2013 4th Week

Prices in the domestic market traded mixed.
CPO prices traded higher this week by RM16.50 to RM2,426.00 against RM2,409.50 attained the previous week. The highest and lowest traded prices were at RM2,480.00 and RM2,320.00 respectively. Price of RBD palm olein traded lower at US$807.50. Crude palm oil traded higher mainly due to:
Supported by news of good export performance during the first 15 days of the month as buyers stocked up ahead of the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadhan.

Market concerns that June palm oil production figures could not keep in tandem with the exports, thus resulting in end-stocks likely to reduce further.
Supportive news of good palm oil fundamentals, with exports rising higher amidst a weaker Ringgit against the US Dollar, thus improving refining margins.
Crude palm oil exports duty (after partial duty exemption) for the month of June, 2013.
With effect from 01/06/2013 30/06/2013, the CPO export duty payable is RM104.94/tonne.
Palm oil prices in Europe traded lower.
Crude palm oil price traded lower by US$6.00 to US$860.00. CPO discount vis--vis SBO widened to US$179.00 this week.
RBD palm olein price traded lower by US$16.00 to US$848.00 and was at a discount of US$191.00 against SBO.
